How I came into the faculty of education.

Teaching or a career in education was not my first career choice. I wanted to pursue a career in the medical faculty. My first choice was Medicine and my second choice was Biomedical Technology. I failed to pursue any of these two careers because of financial constraints and mostly because my matric results could nor guarantee me a bursary. The medical faculty required that I should do a bridging course for a year and I felt it was a waste of time and I did not have the finances. A career in the medical field has always been my dream. I felt that as a medical doctor I would able to help people and do my best to heal their ailments. Biomedical technology was my second because it was also in the medical field and I thought I would have enjoyed working in the laboratory and making my contribution by helping the doctor discover what ailments their patients were suffering from, but it seems fait had its own plans for my future. Here I am today studying to become a teacher. I think the fact that there is a shortage of Maths and Science teachers urged me to come into the field to try and help our youth and our country. All things considered being a teacher is just as important as all other careers. So the question is why any of you came into the faculty of education. Was it life circumstances or was it your first choice?
