DEAR CHILD

When I used to live with my perents they had this message below pasted on our fridge .I used to hate the sight of it because I hated the fact that it was a contant reminder of my place in our home.It emphasized the fact that as a child I had on rights until I moved out of their house.As a child I had to obey them Until I was indipendent and could afford to stay at my own place.I am amazed at the freedom the youth of today have,but I 'd rather have to stay in a home with rules than stay in a home without.Read this and tell me what you think.

AS LONG AS YOU LIVE IN THIS HOUSE YOU WILL
FOLLOW THE RULES. WHEN YOU HAVE YOUR OWN
HOUSE, YOU CAN MAKE YOUR OWN RULES

IN THIS HOUSE WE DO NOT HAVE A DEMOCRACY
I DID NOT CAMPAIGN TO BE YOUR PARENT
YOU DID NOT VOTE FOR ME. WE ARE PARENT AND
CHILD BY THE GRACE OF GOD, AND I ACCEPT THAT
PRIVELEGE AND AWESOME RESPONSIBILITY

IN ACCEPTING I HAVE AN OBLIGATION TO PERFORM
THE ROLE OF A PARENT, I AM NOT YOUR PAL
OUR AGES ARE TOO DIFFERENT. WE CAN SHARE MANY
